A Smile :) A realisation!

I was trying really hard but somehow my mind was not able to get a grip on itself. It was all over the place trying to chase every shard that flew off from  my emotional disintegration. Call it the irony of life, amidst this deep anxiety, I chanced to witness the smile of an ill-clad child who waved at me sat by the corner of the bar. It was cold and windy and the boy had hardly anything to wear but for his smile. I could not understand how he did it.

It is a paradox that people well brought up and endowed,  cannot manage to put up that genuine smile . I was envious! My sorrows are ephemeral and so is happiness. A kind act or two doesn't really harm and I could actually be happier and self satisfied if I were able to reach out to the kid and ask "Hello, I love your smile , will you go to school from tomorrow? How could I help ? " My worries all of a sudden reduced to a pile of self made prejudices and relentless pursuit of material joy! I could visualise how mean I was in not appreciating what I had already.  When we think of our sorrows, we tend to be very selfish thinking why are we chosen for this? We fail to assimilate the immense science involved in human life as we are blinded to the sorrows of others. It's only when we shove ourselves, we realise it's not just us. Every man has to go through pain and suffering and it's best to bear in mind that it wanes with time. It is always nice to be patient and help such people in need. You never know when you might need help!

The next day while I was walking past the bar, I did manage to smile at kid and ask... How can I help?  I handed him some cookies. The child was ecstatic and couldn't thank me enough. From then on I realised charity is not just giving alms  but also about lending a patient ear or  exchanging 'genuine' smiles. Whenever I'm low, I do something good to others and make myself happy.

Driving in the UK!

I have been schlepping my cart filled with heaps to unload; trying to find my way through this maze where I was confronted with the likes of  'deficit', 'inflation' and 'crisis' at alternate roundabouts! For this very reason I have failed to rustle up a single decent meal, leave alone writing something sensible for the blog. I am about to drop dead , someone please help!

Amidst this madness, I took up driving lessons in Edinburgh! Driving in UK is insane as there is a bucket load of rules to follow. The notion that I was good at driving (in India) was soon washed-up to reveal the harsh truth: "YOU CANNOT DRIVE (in the UK)!!!"

I signed up for lessons with RED driving school and my instructor was quite a gentleman named Jim. I have been taking lessons ever since, each lesson lasting 2 hours. The best thing about it is that I get to have a 2 hour break from the several other worries in life, and concentrate on driving which if went wrong would be perilous to two lives, my instructor's and mine! It's still fun with the occasional funny rhetorics coming from Jim about his other students and his children. To acknowledge, that is the only two hour decent conversation I have with a human otherwise it's purely virtual (over Skype) with my beloved family!

I commit inadvertent mistakes while driving which does not mean I'm not paying attention. There are so many things to concentrate on at the same time that I fail to multitask (again something I thought I was good at!) I'm particularly bad at the roundabouts where one is supposed to give way to the oncoming traffic from the right, follow lane discipline, signal to the rest of the traffic and maintain speed. It's a hell of a complex task, and I must say I buckle under pressure. I have managed a flawless roundabout manoeuvre only once. Besides , one should drive on the left hand side of the road in the UK unlike in India, so I did have some teething issues initially, but the markings on the road make it quite easy to understand.

Theory test was a cakewalk, but I know I'm not ready for practicals yet! I might have a practical test next month. So long!

P.S. I will write about my practical test experience very soon, not if I fail :(

Just two more weeks!

It's a week here and a week there, I'm talking about being a week in Edinburgh and a week in Bangalore. These two weeks are crucial, but going to be fun and nerve wrecking as well. These are the last two weeks in my current company and yes I succeed finally in securing my livelihood with another bank.

Laundry list for the week in Edinburgh includes:
1) Signing the lease for the new house at Ritchie Place and collecting keys.
2) Boxing and packing stuff at Dalry place
3) Arrange for movers to drop it to the new destination
4) Unpacking the boxes
5) Cleaning the house at Dalry and handing it over
6) Packing for Bangalore for 10 days
7) Saying goodbye to my office colleagues here in Edinburgh
7) Flying to Bangalore :)

Laundry list for the week in Bangalore:
1) Arriving and finding a place to put up in Bangalore fjust for 10 days.
2) Meeting my siblings
3) Meeting my friends
4) Hurtling to office
5) Running amok in the office for exit clearance
6) Saying goodbye to my office colleagues in Bangalore
7) Going out to parties so long missed in Bangalore
8) Saying goodbye to my siblings and friends
9) Boarding a flight back to Edinburgh - this time to Ritchie Place

In this ruthless list of tasks, I have one thing to smile about. I am shifing to Fountainbridge where Sean Connery was born! Some solace to this otherwise dejected being :)

Job Hunt!

I was well into my reveries when someone knocked on the door and dropped a letter. This brazenly pulled me out of my dreams into reality which wasn't quite pleasing. I'm so obsessed with my job hunting these days, that in my conscious world I only have that on mind, save eating! The job at hand itself is so oppressing, that it has become quite a schedule to manage responding to the numerous calls and emails I get all day. Now that I was awake I was thinking what would happen to the interview that I had appeared the previous day. Suspense kills even before the murderer actually executes it. Well this has been my story these days.

I have been a bit finicky about the place where I want to work leave aside the pay and position. I want it to be a proper city with all amenities like a gym, movie theatre, shopping centres etc to be around. In some of the cities, I travelled to for interviews, I did cast a glance around if it met my whims and developed a desperation to the quit the place soon.  I'm being quite difficult and have to be a bit less judgemental of a place. Hopefully, I will soon find a job of my dreams in the right place with the right pay and the right position. Have you heard this ever happen ?????

I'm coming home!!!

Its been seven months and feels like ages that I've ventured out of this place! This is too long to be held in work without a break. In these seven months, a dear friend tied the knot, friends celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, went on trips ,had fun and I missed them all. Can I get the time that flew past? A hell no ! :( :(

Well its pointless regretting, but I have planned a small vacation with my family and booked tickets already . I can smell the pertrichor already of monsoon hit Indian soil. I'll fly away from all drudgery to be home all pampered and cared. Anticipation itself is just so lovely, how will it be getting there! I hope it turns out all quite enjoyable and doesn't disappoint me. I promise I will switch off my phone and my holiday will be mine :)

The Fire descends!

I had been to church this morning after having missed it for two consecutive weeks. It was a more of a guilt than an inclination that I woke up early and treaded towards the church. Little did I realise that it was roughly ten days over forty past Easter. In Christianity, we do believe that Jesus resurrected after death and stayed with His disciples for 40 days after which He ascended bodily into heaven . Ten days later He sent The Holy Spirit which is symbolised by 'Tongue of fire' and also by the white dove. This day (7th Sunday from Easter) we celebrate Pentecost commemorating that we always have company in the Holy Spirit.

This is just for a background.

Coming to the point, I was still drowsy from the previous nights movie, but the short and crisp sermon delivered by the Bishop opened my eyes! There was a very beautiful line in his speech which I'd like to quote

' Fire is considered to bring about destruction but if you look carefully it brings about transformation '

This had depth enough to stir me.

I also got to witness three different sacraments today- Baptism, Communion and Confirmation. It was wonderful to see how people from different age groups , with a splash of water on the forehead were baptised. Though I have seen people attaining these sacraments, never caught the three at the same time. It was a welcome experience for me and a very good start to the week.

Brown's brawny!

Not an avid religious, but I sometimes chance to grace the nearby church at Palmerston Road. I had been there a couple of times, majorly drawn to it owing to its vivid architecture. Exquisitely intricate! I was so awed, that amidst the sunday service I was sitting, fabricating pleas to the Almighty for but one sunny day, that I could go click the magnifique in peace.

As I believe, God hears prayers and lo! I was obliged too. Grabbed my camera for a kickass shoot as my muse stood waiting! With a little cajoling she did agree to flaunt her contours..Check her out =>

Movie Marathon! I love it!

It's like there has been some adjustment to the machinery in me- I'm stuck to my laptop like never before. I have been cramming in on any movie I could think of on my HP G62 (most derided laptops of all), thanks to IMDB, the extratorrent site and windows media player. Just in a matter of 3 days, I have downloaded and watched six of the latest flicks and streamed some online as well. Nine down and still counting. My gray cells have been overloaded with information and I might be well rustling up some plot without even me realising.. Gosh! wish I were such a genious.

To read out in order:

1) Fast and the Furious 5
2) Insidious
3) The Source Code
4) Dhobi Ghat
5) The Lincoln Lawyer
6) Limitless
7) Shor in the City
8) The Adjustment Bureau
9) Another movie which I cannot even name (lol ;))

and the tenth one is 'Thor' which I'm yet to lay my eyes on. It's quite a feat achieved for a person who in the recent 6 months has barely watched 8 movies. All of this along with 8 hours of office, take off the sleeping and eating time. This demonstrates that I still have it in me :) All in all it has been quite entertaining!

To uncover the truth, this is the best I could do to subdue my agony of a bad appraisal at work and make my life worth living. Need some tips too???

The Beltane Fire Festival '11 and I

Celebrating the age old pagan Beltane festival replete with fire and lashings of body paint, Calton hills in the Scottish capital Edinburgh, cutlassed the winter shiver to welcome the warmth of summers ! It was one of the most spectacular events that I have witnessed in this sleepy little city (not that sleepy as one gets to know it ;))

Benefitting from my short height, I did happen to make it in the front row and could catch the frolic from close quarters. Got to catch a glimpse of the very majestic May Queen and the men painted in red, it was a totally outlandish feeling! I also joined the semi clad men and women dancing around the bonfire swaying to their transcendental chants.
As an Indian we have a plethora of festivals, some of which are a wee bizarre, but great fun! We gleefully douse each other in coloured water and get painted to incognizance! We also have the festival of lights where we burn crackers, the sky is adorned with colourful fireworks and the aura gets pleasantly deafening.Yes I'm talking about Holi and Deepawali. This Fire Festival to me was a handshake of the two Indian festivals -people with painted bodies worshipping fire :) I was completely at ease!

Have fun watching the snaps sneaking out of my camera lenses :)

People say I talk!

Gruelling! That's how I define solitude...Take my word for life... nobody on earth will be revered for leading a successfully lonesome life but for me! My friends bet on me holding my tongue dumb for at least five minutes! Guess what?? It's a battle now!! If only it were as big a sport as cricket, they would have raked in buckets of moolah..Silence is gold but who likes the yellow metal, It's so passe'

I'm a people's person, when I say this I literally mean I am one. I assimilate joy into my life and hopefully into other souls around me who do sneak a smile/giggle (targeted either at me or my blabber).. I wonder why people shy away from speaking. I will confess that speaking is really not an art, this is an innate capability which every human being is bestowed upon with and should be used in it's full capacity(unless one is muted by nature)

While I was in kindergarten, there had been a constant complaint from my teachers that I was less articulate. I took it up as a challenge to rescue myself from the derision! The following year I read a lot and blurted about everything-even as remote as a shoe-lace. Swashbuckled to the core! I somehow made my parents proud by not getting the same remark about myself in the next parents-teacher meeting. To be true, it was a different affair by then :( I was told off by my teachers and students that I am the noisiest in the class and often out-standing (read - standing out of the class as an act of punishment)! I was KNOWN...Believe me, I had on one hand the ecstacy of conquering my muted expressions in all its spontaneity and at the same time the onslaught of too many kvetches from my near and not so dear ones! It was a lot to handle for my wee little brain. I felt like a celebrity- Tugged down when you prefer to be silent and even otherwise.

With this ruptured idea of glory, I did trudge a long way until I was in my college. It was there where I made some friends for life! 'Friends for life' do have the right to judge and yell at you point-blank. It was a regular snap ' Sheila, aren't you tired of speaking' ,'We'll cellotape your lips'. These comments grew incessant as my talking grew. Much to my chagrin, the habit was holding steady on to my tongue marring all my attempts to correct myself.

It did bring me a job though. I headed to being a professional in one of the mutinationals! Nothing deterred me from practicing my ideologies that I had nurtured. Every team that I worked for was the noisiest during my tenure, often colleagues from the surrounding bay raised a brow to calm me down. I was and I am unremitting. Be it a game of cards, cooking, watching movies or reading a book.. I am never silent. I'm told off every now and then. But why should I be a silent observer when I know I can make a mark by speaking :) :)

I'm silent only when I'm alseep. If people have qualms, I don't care! When people refuse to listen to me , I vent it here :)

Five years etcetera!

The most clichéd question lingers in between my ears.. How do you see yourself five years down the line? A question  hurled at most interviewees seeking their first job. Silly as we were, silly were our answers too.To quote for a  fun laugh:

-I want to grow up the ladder and become a manager.
-I want to have achieved the Stellar award instituted by my company.
-I want to add value to the company by my expertise and help it grow.
-I want to ... blah blah blah

Every interviewer must have sneaked a furtive laugh in their gut!

Phew! a half decade past my first day at job. If I were to answer the question now!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to answer such a question. I would like to speak my mind. Your company gave the thrust that I required to start my career. The initial few months were mirthful as I made new pals from different colleges, explored avenues to chat with them, had spring flings! The boot-camp was the best period, having said that it was getting to know the rules well to help rustle up ways of wreckage! The first year went by in running errands for team. Second year, I put in my soul. It was an enabler for getting into your rival organisation with double the compensation you offered. In two years, I had already learnt the tricks-of-trade. I survived brazen -headed, evading work and spending most of the time having lunch(fagging for those who smoke) with a bunch of outlaws like me.

I discovered ways to download songs in office and watch movies online. Blogging and chatting was effected on the fly. I had pirated! Amply lied to the manager and gone on long vacations despite the staggering deadlines which were to be met. The last three years I was completely tempered by the ups and downs and have been sustaining!

Not a manager yet, not gained anything for the company yet :)

The above is the abridged version of every IT employee's life! It is purely fictitious and bears no resemblance to any person, specially me ;P

That’s Edinburgh for me!

They call it summer and it’s just a wee degree higher than what we have in winters. It’s not their fault! I just had the tangles off my hair on a no less than windy day and only to my shock it’s in snares again. It’s ostensibly ominous, somebody trying to undo your hair the moment you set out to rock the streets. Crazier than it sounds, it pissed the entire Edinburgh wetting every pit and mound. The temperatures nosedived enough to shatter all my plans of sightseeing. Believe me, it is summer here!

It is a sight to behold, when the sun shines bright, and the cold wind blows followed by a quiet drizzle you won’t realize unless you were out under the sky. Right through your window from behind the multitude of archaic smoke-brick buildings you can soothe your eyes with the kaleidoscopic view of the rainbow. The interbred colours render the sky with the Midas touch! I was infested with the compelling urge to soak up all the colours and swash on to the canvas of my otherwise bland life!

Yet I managed to set out for the remaining bit of the day clad in an overcoat, long boots and my wily friend – the umbrella. I’d like to call it my friend though it has acted more of a fiend at times I needed it. There’s a thumb rule in Edinburgh- ‘You never venture out without an umbrella', as the rain Gods are very active here and might shower their bounty anytime, unannounced. I left home despite the weather, all geared up come what may. I had hardly known that my preparedness was confined to me and not my friend. A strong wind blew and lo, it blew off! It din’t wait a jiffy leaving me chasing it in a wasted attempt.

This is routine now. I’m undaunted by the weather and despite all the trials and tribulations I’ve managed to catch a glimpse of the gargantuan castles, the seasonal abode of the Queen, the majestic streets flanked by statues of great Scottish men! How could I miss the kilt? You could occasionally catch sight of men scuttling to offices in kilts, agreeably hot! From savoring the haggis to the Scotch whisky, it’s all done here.

It’s a sleepy little city as I always say, but has its own subtle charm. A land where the sun doesn’t seem to set, the things to be done here are aplenty. I would say it’s a place which leaves you in peace in retrospection. A verdict hands down!

Little somethings!

A gasp of air, and there I go! I'm still breathing! Just watched the super-hyped movie 'Karthik calling Karthik' which does not live up to one's curiosity! I wasted some two and half hours watching Farhan Akhtar trying hard to convince the audience to hold on to their seats...Undoubtedly, Deepika Padukone, steals the show by the her ravishing looks leaving most of the guys drooling. She is the only justice to the moolah you've doled out!

Also had a chance to watch the Oscar nominated movie- Hurt Locker. The base idea was beautiful and did teach me that watching Karthik calling Karthik was self inflicted hurt locker. Somehow , not very happy with the editing of the movie and being an IT guy, I would have been a better person to do that. Please please please... give me a break! Let's see how it fares! Stay tuned to the Academy Awards being aired on 7th March 2010.

A breathtaking salsa performance...Naah! not by me! Choreographers from outside Tesco! But yeah, I did manage to shake a leg on stage and do some ungainly stunts! Nonetheless people eulogised! People have some taste missing there :)

Prepared Chilly Paneer! Googled the recipe on the internet, procured the ingredients and set on to work! Turned out OK , but my sixth sense condemns it still! Could have been better!

Played doubles, though have been doing it singles all the time. The ping-pong ball has rendered me quite nimble around the table. Have shed few inches ;) that's the sole motive of my playing. My opponent is quite competent and sure she gives me a run for the ball ....No pun intended :)

Just read the book 'Unaccustomed Earth' by Jhumpa Lahiri(an assorted collection of short stories) and got to learn a lot about Bongs and their foreign-settled counterparts! Personally I have a lot of Bengali and pseudo-bengali friends! So I would actually say it's a good write before they knock me down! She is a beautiful author and indeed you get to learn a lot while you read the works of such accomplished writers!

Have been networking, net-working and working! It's all been fun! So here I come to stay in touch!

2bOR02b – That is the question?

To be or not to be … the well known soliloquy (monologue) from Shakespeare’s Hamlet has been fodder for thought ever since I read it in the book prescribed in my school curriculum. I bet everyone on this earth must have been victim to a particular cul-de-sac in their lives. It's a deadlock- either die to break the lock or persist in the situation. How often have people been brave enough to take the plunge rather than succumb!

Be it a school going child or an octogenarian-doting-great-grandpa, be it the king or the subject, a vagabond or a destination traveler, a cat or a lion, potato or onion- all have encountered it- To be or not to be ? It has been quite a question!

There could be an instance in which you have eaten loads, satiated your appetite and have not a centimeter room left in your tummy to accommodate another morsel. Your friend reads out the dessert menu aloud, and your taste buds reach out to your brain to accept the offer. The tongue wants it, but the brain says no! If there is a little more taken, there could be morning havoc :o) If you do not take it, you will regret the royal relish that your palette would miss. A question to reckon! 2bOR02b?

Another simple example would be engineering exams.

It is a general trait of engineering students to shirk studies until the night before the exam. Excuses are handy for any accountability to be taken for the anticipation of poor scores. The very prospect of flunking would send chills down the spine. I have had such experiences too.

No amount of studying helps as the time is too less when measured against the humongous syllabus. That is sure no consolation neither motivation. It only leaves with the guilt of insincerity and a feeling of helplessness. Few students with lambent wit and good humor often lighten the situation by cagey remarks “ Ab tak nahin kiya, toh raat bhar mein kya padh lenge” which are good enough to help recline and think on similar lines. This again devours some of the precious hours which could have been otherwise used to study.

The posing question would be – Should I be appearing for the exams or not? 2bOR02b? If I answered yes, I was sure to flunk. The humiliation of failing for once a topper would be poisoning. Similar debate over if I do not appear for the exam, I would flunk anyway, but with grace. If I took the exams and somehow cleared it, I could save one year. Would such unhealthy report be good for my career? How will I tell my family that I have passed and achieved only 50%? How will I tell them that I have failed? All such questions do stem in that sensitive hour.

How I wish it were a perfect world and such situations never haunted us! There would be no dilemma, hence less mental stress, and of course a healthy life.

Don't Ask, Why?

Don't Ask, Why?

Dogged and undaunted,
The eddies swirl high
Rising from the dungeon,
To ask the reason why?

Why is it on the top
The fear of tumbling?
Why is it at the ankles
The fear of stumbling?

Swept is the sand
Leaving it all-bare,
The heart understands it
But mind differs to care!

Why on land
The dales of honesty,
Now reigned by coup-
Of the brazen dynasty?

Why does the wanton wind
Play on the sea-bed,
Only to tear apart-
The imperturbable red.

Cast all whys
Exhorts the zephyr,
Questioning is but
Viling the fervour.

The withered optimism
Yet to fade away,
Strung rigid to the pole
Causing fears to allay.

Sketch the figure-
Of unabated determination ,
Splash the hue
Of honesty's culmination

Sweep all filth
From every nook,
Let the senses breathe
An unadulterated look!

The eddies will calm,
Time will bestow its balm,
Stretch your determined palm,
To clasp every helpless arm !

English Rigmarole!

I have been suffering from what is called the Obsessive Pronunciation Syndrome. Mostly, when I articulate in English, I tend to fumble for the fear of wrongly pronouncing whatever follows. I have been practicing this since childhood and deserve a pat on my back. I am improving. Improved but at the same time I have espoused an inexplicable habit of rectifying people on their pronunciation. As I believe in the truth of the adage “Old habits die hard!” it blissfully accompanies my conversations with sometimes quite unknown people. Either the audience is left in awe or the orator herself suffers from the guilt of insolence.

This has altogether become an involuntary act. I do not realize until the person I try to correct becomes quiet suddenly, or chases to bang my head. It would be fun to share some of those instances.

Now I hail from a geography where people are too good with their Pro-noun-ciations. That is how they would render it saying “Boss your pro-noun-ciation is wrong”.

Even funnier is when you travel to eastern India and you would come across people who would be in a serious attempt to vandalize the language – “Babu, the baash wheel leebh!” Please move your ass sorts! Well to decode- it would read as “Babu, the bus will leave”.

There are these western Indians who would say “Jigness’s wife laa-oo-s(loves) me a lot and she has flow-less (flawless) skin” :)

Northern India has peculiar articulations as they love to ‘tamper the temperature’. They would say ‘Delhi has very high tamp-rature and they swat(sweat) like pigs!’

The South has some royal distortions of consonants itself. The man himself is flip-flopped…. YEM YAY YEN! (MAN).

Thankfully, the Central India has spared English and they seek refuge in Hindi.

All of the citations above are my own experiences and I have tried to correct the speaker but to minimal avail as I said- Old habits die hard.

Then come the urban educated who think they speak correct English but are oscillating between the American and British English. I fell prey to this too. Watching English movies has totally ruined my understanding of the English that I learnt in my school days. I am unsure most of the times when I pronounce a word . Let’s say for example the word ‘leisure’. You can either call it lee-zhur(American) or ley-zhur(British). Recently my friend corrected me on the pronunciation of the word ‘Nazi’ which should be correctly pronounced as ‘Naatzi’. Similarly you have the Peetza (Pizza). The British ruled India for two centuries and left us their language. My primary school English teacher had aptly described this as a ‘Horse Language’.

There are certain other words which great orators would use with utter poise like
‘Epi-toam(epitome) of kindness’. Folks I cannot control any further and I have to correct you here. It’s pronounced Epi-tuh-me. Another word which has been ringing in my mind is Duplex. Just to sound chic people call it “Dew-play” which is 200 % wrong. It is to be pronounced ‘Dew-plex’ .Phew! what a perplex! Heard of penchant? You can pronounce it pen-chunt or po(nasal)-shaw(nasal)… How on earth can a person remember so many variants of a word? Well that’s what the English seers are for.

I think if I do not stop here, I will go on and on. If you think I mispronounced any word above ;) do stop by and help me learn.

The Sun Smiles

Virgo~Capricorn~Aquarius~Pisces
Virgo~Capricorn~Aquarius~Pisces … Wondering why only these signs of the Zodiac?? Hey… I leave it to the interpretation of the readers and I’m sure three of them would have guessed it correct by the mention itself.

Eat like a king and sleep like a baby! This is the maxim of life which is common to all the four, though the exponents in this field may differ. Capricorn loves fish and so do Pisces and Virgo whilst Aquarius curls her nose up and shrugs the smell away!! Name Chicken 65, Tandoori Kebab or Mutton Biryani and everyone is all smiles! Food binds the four against all odds and dare anybody draw them asunder.

One day Aquarius woke up and found that the three of them including Pisces and Virgo have grown out of shape. All of them were overwhelmed with grief and could not bear the sight of them in the mirror. The three, never in envy but in awe of Capricorn’s sculpted figure decided to take the plunge. Hence the schedule changed and the alarm now barges uninvited into the dreams of the three at 5:45 a.m. Dot six, after a bit of pushing and shoving each other, they get on the run with their jogging shoes. This fitness regime is concluded with an occasional, fair, on-the-lane badminton tournament, and none wins! In the meanwhile, Capricorn saddles up for the day with apt formal attire and breakfast which is painfully pushed into the mouth as the sun rises a tad high. The three jog back and behold! They are four. The sun smiles J

It’s time to catch up with a little news outside the house and the legendary ‘Friends Series’. So one grabs the newspaper, the other takes the supplement to the early-in-the-morning-not-so-mentionable-place! Virgo guesses that the newspaper supplement acts as a catalyst in getting rid of the unwanted and so it is so important in Pisces’ life. Impish Virgo! Aquarius backs it with a hoodwinked smile. The daily dosage of the Friends even if it has been watched and laughed-at uncountable times, never fails to add a glow to the ordinary. This often plays a delay game for Virgo and she tends to miss the office bus more often than missing ‘Friends’. All the four are off to office by 10:30 a.m. The sun smiles J

The four are well connected to each other while working in different offices. One goes down and the rest of three get into prolonged wired conversations and comforting! It is kindness and concern flowing to be meted out to the needy. This is the essence of the ‘She’ legacy. There are times when the four, plan to go out on a trip during the so called long weekends and mails keep flowing from one brand (read as company’s email account) to another seamlessly. It’s great to have a whole chain discussing which resort to book and what to wear specially which cuisine to try! Having fun is an inherent part of the nexus. It sometimes also involves discussions about other friends, colleagues, families of colleagues, the crushes and the crushed … The victor and the vanquished are equally praised and criticized respectively. It’s time for the sun to hide. It’s seven and then eight. The four get home. The sun smiles J …The sun smiles as it hands its mission over to the moon.

The four get into cooking and watching the idiot box again. Capricorn is a sweet singer. Aquarius and Pisces combined can form the walking-talking movie encyclopedia with the behind-the-scene gossip at their fingertips. Virgo is a singer cum dancer in waiting. All of this also cooks up while the food gets cooked. It is dinner time and all the four come together. A hard earned sleep waits while droopy eyelids beg to be relieved of the daily soaps and movies playing on the TV. The sun smiles J ...This time the stars twinkle too!

Amidst all of this, there are weekends full of activity, spring cleaning and gargantuan shopping. If there are bouquets there are brickbats too. Mind it, not all the fingers of the feet are alike, yet the four manage to be one!! They have joy, they have fun, and they have seasons in the sun. Many such sweet ones yet to be seen…

Virgo dedicates this to the rest of the Zodiacs – Doing without is undoable!!!
